Pontiac Illinois Wedding: Tana + Joe

I have such wonderful clients! I know I say that a lot, but it really is true. In this job, you really get to know people over the course of a year (sometimes more!), during a really important time…and then you spend the most important day of their lives alongside them…it really is a pretty unique and wonderful experience, and I don’t take my amazing clients for granted!
I made the trek out to Pontiac Illinois last weekend to shoot Tana & Joe’s wedding. Trust me, its waaay out there…to give you a little perspective, its 30+ miles from the nearest Starbucks. (I checked on Google Maps before I left Chicago, so that I’d know where to make a stop.) The great news about that drive was that the Lite (93.9fm) started playing Christmas music last weekend so I just sang my way to Pontiac….the time just flew right on by. Pontiac was charming, as were the friends and family at Joe & Tana’s wedding.
The beautiful bride!Joe & Tana opted to do a ‘First Look’…which gave us plenty of time (and enough light) to get photos of them and the wedding party before the ceremony. I have to say, I am a big fan of the First Look.Tana. I love this one! It was fun to see you laughing and having fun on your weddin’ day. This ahhh-mazing car is Tana’s dad’s. He recently restored it, and then let us use it for wedding photos. I’m not normally all that big on classic cars, but this one sure was pretty!Love this shot. Love. Tana is smokin’ in this picture!I loved the sparklers!! This was the perfect time of day for it too…Pretty sweet get-away car.
There were some really sweet words said about both Joe & Tana during the toasts, this is definitely one of my favorite parts of the wedding day.A bunch of kids got as close as they could to the dance floor, its really cute to see how the little ones (especially the girls) are so drawn to brides.Haha!! Love it.Tana & Joe, I hope you’re relaxing and soaking up the sun today! I wish you both all the best.

Wayside Chapel Wedding: Larry & Lauren

I have never seen a bride SO beaming with joy as Lauren was on her wedding day, and Larry could not stop admiring how beautiful she looked. It was such a sweet day to witness!
They were married at The Wayside Chapel in Palos Park – a really quaint stone A-Frame chapel, and one of my favorite locations in Chicagoland for intimate weddings.
Goin’ to the chapel…See?! You can see it. These two could not possibly be happier!loooove this one. This was during Lauren’s dad’s toast when he was talking about Lauren and how he felt when he became her father, a father for the first time.
Ready to dance!

Larry & Lauren I hope you’re loving Orcas Island!
One of my cousins got married there about 10 years ago and is such a beautiful spot. I sure do miss it in that part of the country! Its home to me.
PS Larry & Lauren’s wedding marks the last wedding of my 2010 season. The amazing couples that I’ve worked with and the growth I’ve seen in my business have blown me away this year! I’m not quite finished with 2010 weddings, just that the pace is about to change as winter approaches. I’m looking forward to the change. I’m sure that I will still be busy this winter (both the to-do lists continue to grow) but I also know that it might be contained to more ‘normal’ hours of the day…and that will be a great thing for me.

Schaumburg Wedding: Lindsay + Rob

Rob & Lindsay’s wedding was a pleasure to photograph – working with people like them is a huge part of the reason why I love my job. It really is true…no matter how much I love photography and weddings, this job would be too hard if I didn’t work with wonderful people.

Lindsay was radiant on her wedding day! See what I mean…
Love!! So Classic. You can tell that family is hugely important to these two. All of the siblings, as well as all of Rob’s nieces and nephews were involved somehow in the ceremony. I love that. This is one of Rob’s adorable nieces…and our flower girl. Balloons were just one of Lindsay’s many creative touches – so much fun! This was my first experience shooting with balloons.
Sometimes…the wind just does what it wants to do!So happy! This is my golden, sparkley..FAVORITE kind of light. This is the original Just Married sign used by their parents…She’s like “Watch yourself there Rob…no cake is getting on this dress!” (and it didn’t)Watching the sweet slideshow put together by Lindsay’s sister in law Nadia.Ahhh…contentment.
Rob and Lindsay…I know you’re probably sitting on a beach in Florida right now enjoying your honeymoon! I hope that you love these images and that they bring back some of the sweet moments from your wedding day.
Best,
Erica
