Lincoln Park Engagement Session :: Joel & Lindsay

Joel and Lindsay live in a neighborhood full of great photo-ops, so they thought it would be fun and meaningful to stay close to home for their engagement session. First, we met at one of their favorite local restaurants (the Basil Leaf Cafe) for a few shots, we got there before the dinner rush and the manager was kind enough to let us do our thing for a little while.
After the Cafe we walked over to the Nature Museum (one of my favorite spots) for a few more pictures…you can even see Joel & Lindsay’s building in the background of some of these shots. They brought a bottle of wine from a favorite vineyard as a prop!I like this one a lot…Joel & Lindsay…you two are so great to work with, so natural and fun in front of the camera! I can’t wait for your wedding next September…so glad that Ed & Rebecca referred you to me :)

Millenium Park Engagement :: Karin & Alex

I had another fabulous engagement shoot last week with Karin & Alex…these two are getting married at the lovely Cafe Brauer next June and I can’t wait to photograph them again on that day!
I had to start off with these few below just for you, Alex. What do you think?! Cheesy? I still don’t think so…I love these urban gardens, tucked right in there in the middle of downtown.Love love these two below…Power spin.Karin & Alex! I hope you love these. I can’t wait to work with you again in June…time will fly by and it’ll be here before we know it!

Lincoln Park Engagement Session :: Casey & Jordan

Its been a while since I last posted one of these! I try to limit the amount of other sessions I do during the crazy times of wedding season, so I do most engagement sessions in the early Spring and then again in the Fall. When I looked at my calendar for the month of September and saw an abundance of e-shoots, I was a little taken aback. Could Fall possibly be here already? I mean, I’m definitely ready for it (Casey, Jordan & I talked about pumpkin spice lattes, football season, apple picking and fall cooking while we were shooting, so its definitely in the air!) but I just can’t believe that Summer has come and gone again.
ANYways, let me share a few from this engagement session…shot on a lovely Fall evening last week!I really like this one, a lot. This is how you know its (almost) Fall in Chicago: We have enviable light, just for a little while…and there are lots of long grasses to play in.Casey & Jordan, I hope you love this little preview. I had such a great time walking and talking with you both…best of luck with the rest of the wedding planning to come!

Mill Ruins Park Engagement :: Ellie & Marshall

The past few days Jamie and I have been in Minnesota, visiting family and friends…I definitely appreciate that its only a 6 hour drive to visit people, and try to take advantage of that as often as possible. This weekend one of the purposes of our drive to MN was to do an engagement session with my cousin Ellie and her fiance Marshall! They’ll be married in less than one month, which kind of hit me at the end of our session! Wow!! I’m so happy for these two, and can’t wait to be a part of their wedding day : )Ellie and Marshall had me meet them at Mill Ruins Park in Minneapolis…I think its a pretty popular spot for photos in the area, and I could see why right away. So many great photo ops in such close proximity!Lets just say that Marshall did an amazing job picking this ring out…its a stunner.I really, really love this one.Yay!! One more month!
Thanks for braving the heat with me, you two…it was worth it. But, lets hope it cools off by about 20 degrees for wedding day!
